It is essential that you do not admit fault.  Remain calm and polite, but do not get into the issue of what happened regarding the accident.  Make sure you bet the other driver's name, phone, drivers license number, insurance company including policy number and contact information.  If there were witnesses politely request and write down their names, addresses and phone numbers.  Again it is important that you do not make any statements to the other driver about how the auto accident occurred.  If you have had injuries make sure you see a doctor the same day if at all possible.  Attempt to contact law enforcement and have them make a police report.  The police report needs to be done right after the accident, not the following day.
